ANDOPEN
A biometric authentication-based health data management system that allows secure authentication and sharing of personal health information in hospitals, gyms, and other facilities.
Utilizing medical records or health data required cumbersome authentication procedures such as hospital-issued documents or ID verification. Existing health management apps were also vulnerable to security breaches or had difficulty linking data between multiple institutions, making it difficult for individuals to manage their health information in an integrated manner. In addition, access control relying on cards or passwords was at risk of loss or theft.
SNAPPASS enables access to personal health data without a network connection through 2FA authentication that combines biometrics such as fingerprint and facial recognition with a dual security card (passcard)[6][7].
The serverless architecture reduces the risk of central DB leakage, and the encrypted distributed ledger (DLT) ID technology fundamentally blocks identity forgery. This allows hospitals, fitness centers, insurance companies, and other different institutions to securely share data with the same authentication pass. The simultaneous enhancement of security and convenience compared to existing methods is remarkable.
The main customers are enterprises (B2B) such as medical institutions, fitness chains, and insurance companies. Individual consumers (B2C) use the service, and the companies or institutions that adopt the solution are responsible for the actual payment.
It can be expanded not only to healthcare but also to other security-critical areas such as finance and access control.
Currently, it is focused on the Korean market, but it is expected to expand linkage with overseas services by utilizing global standards such as passport-based authentication[8][9]. However, customization may be required for each market due to different medical data regulations in each country.
It was evaluated as a solution that combines security and convenience with high technical completeness. In particular, expectations were raised by news of support from government agencies and global partnerships (Stripe, Thales, etc.)[10], but the actual formation of a wide-ranging ecosystem is a challenge. The market is watching whether actual use cases will be secured.
⚠️ Impressive technology but market uncertainty (Excellent security technology, but verification is needed to establish itself as a healthcare data platform)
