"Autonomous Wellness Robot" – An AI home care robot that autonomously navigates the home, purifies the air, and non-contact measures five vital signs of the user, such as heart rate and respiration, in 10 seconds.
Modern people struggle with indoor air pollution and a lack of health management. Even with air purifiers, blind spots arise that don't cover the entire house, and there are few ways to check one's health status in daily life other than regular checkups. In particular, single-person households or the elderly are at risk of missing accidents when alone. Existing robot vacuum cleaners only clean the floor and lack wellness (health) functions. Against this backdrop, NamuX A1 was developed with the recognition that there is a need for a new concept of home care device that thoroughly purifies the air in the house and informs users of their health status every day.
NamuX A1 is"Moving Air Purifier + Health Scanner"a unique convergence product. With AI autonomous driving technology, it patrols the house, senses air quality, and goes to polluted areas to purify, so unlike stationary air purifiers, it manages every corner of the house without blind spots.
It also measures 5 vital signs (pulse, respiration rate, oxygen saturation, etc.) in 10 seconds non-contact with the front camera/sensor, which is a technology that analyzes and extracts subtle signals such as changes in the user's face and body color using AI. It is easy to check your health every day without attaching a separate device to your body, and there is also a function to share the measurement results with your family.
In addition, a LLM-based voice assistant is built-in, allowing voice commands to switch air purification modes and even provide health consultations. For example, if you ask "How's the air today?" it will answer the current air quality and purification progress, and if you ask "How's my blood pressure today?" it will tell you the results measured in the morning. It is designed as an open-source platform that can continuously add new services through software upgrades, and may be developed into pet care and healthcare-linked devices in the future. In short, it is like a home AI caregiver robot that provides clean breathing and wellness monitoring at home.
Although it is a premium home appliance for general consumers (B2C), it can be distributed in B2B2C partnership with healthcare service companies or insurance companies. For example, if a health insurance company provides A1 to elderly households, it becomes a type of remote monitoring that can be used as an added service. Luxury real estate developers adopt it as a smart home amenity, orluxury nursing homes, hospitals (B2B)can purchase it for patient monitoring.
However, it is expected to be sold as a home product through SK Networks' B2C sales channels as a first priority. For B2G, there is room for use in local government's care projects for the elderly living alone. However, above all, the core adopters are consumers from the middle class or higher who want to take care of their own health.
Wellness home appliances are a global trend, and composite function robots like NamuX A1 are still rare, so a preemptive effect is expected. In the future, the use can be expanded to hotel room management robots (air purification + customer health service), corporate offices, etc. In addition, SK Intellix is continuously planning AI module updates, so elderly care functions such as fall detection and emergency call connection can be added in the future.
In terms of regulations, it is relatively free because it is positioned as a wellness device so as not to fall under medical device certification. However, privacy protection must be thorough when handling health data. With the development of 5G and IoT, the communication infrastructure for such home robots is already in place, so there is no problem with diffusion, and it can also become a home robotics hub by linking with similar service robots (e.g., robot vacuum cleaners, voice assistants).
It was recognized for the originality of its idea by winning the CES 2026 Innovation Award (Home Appliances category). The judges said"a new approach to managing health at home"and praised the technology convergence. In particular, it was mentioned that the implementation reliability is high because it was made by a large company affiliate such as SK.
Media such as TrendHunter said"a robot that makes you wonder why it hasn't existed until now"and said that they are curious about consumer reactions because both air purification and health measurement are clearly necessary in daily life. However, there were also realistic comments such as "the price will be very high" and"can be replaced with a general purifier + wearable".In other words, price accessibility and performance verification are key to popularization. Overall, the mainstream view is positive about the attempt to converge home appliances and healthcare, and it received great attention at the CES site.
⚠️ Impressive technology but market uncertainty – Although it has pioneered a new market called wellness robotics, it is questionable whether consumers are ready to pay a lot of money for robots. The concept is attractive and SK's drive is also expected, but it is necessary to watch the actual commercial performance.
